All I've Got to Do

Lennon rolled over from tummy to back again this morning!  I flipped her back over and tried to video her but of course that one flip tired her out and she just laid there and complained.  She also made it from her back to her tummy once the other day!  I'm sure soon enough she'll be rolling non-stop.

Sleep, ah sleep...  Yesterday I decided I really need to give up on using the swing for her naps.  When I nap her in the swing she'll sleep for an hour or two.  When I nap her in her bassinet she only sleeps for 30 - 40 minutes.  So, I've been reluctant to give up on the swing since it gave me time.  But I also don't want her to be relying on being rocked to sleep for every nap.  She had two (short) naps in the bassinet yesterday and one in the car while we were out and about.  The morning nap took a while to get her to settle down but she finally did.  In the afternoon she went down and I let her complain a bit and turned on some white noise and within a few minutes she was asleep!  Not bad!  This morning was the same thing.  It would be nice if she would sleep just a little longer but maybe that's all she needs.  After a couple of long nights - Sunday night she was up every hour from midnight to 7 am and Monday up 3 times - last night she slept 8 hours straight!  Is it the new napping regime?  Who knows!  We'll see what happens tonight.  Now I just need to keep up with not using the swing!  We'll get the crib set up this weekend and then start putting her in there for naps.

Today we're off to the doctor for her check up.  How much will she weigh?!

Quick update:
Lennon's doctor appointment went really well.  She's doing great!  She weighs 15lb 5oz.  In the 50th percentile for weight and height.  Perfectly average!  Her head is still on the big size :) but nothing to worry about.

Every Little Thing

Four months old!  May 14, 2014

We had a great long weekend in Penticton.  Lennon was really good for the long car ride.  She slept the majority of the time.  We did have to make three stops to feed her.  All in all the trip took about 2.5 hours longer than usual.  It was a long day.

The weather was nice, hovering around 20, and we didn't get rain so that made for a perfect getaway.  Grandma and Paga L. were also there so they provided babysitting services while Fred and I got out wine touring with our friends who were with us for the weekend.  We had a great time.  It was nice for us to get out!  Lennon was well behaved for the grandparents too!

The drive home turned out to be even longer because there was a mudslide on the trans-Canada that held us up for an hour and a half.  But, again, Lennon was great!

Lennon continues to change daily.  Today she rolled over from her tummy to her back on her own!  I was so excited!  I had just finished sending Fred a video (see below) of her trying to get from her back to her tummy, she's almost there, and helped her over to her tummy.  She laid there for a moment and then started wiggling and all of a sudden turned right over!  Of course she hasn't done it again yet.  It'll happen and then it will happen all the time.  Soon I will have a baby on the move.  Every new thing she does is so exciting!

Did I mention that we now have our nursery furniture...finally.  Well, we do!  We still have to assemble the crib and then hang some things on the walls.  But, it's getting close!  We did put up a decal which looks really good.  It'll be great once the whole room is together.  Once we have the crib up I'm going to start putting Lennon in there for her naps and start the transition to putting her in the crib at night.  I may miss the convenience of having her next to the bed for middle of the night feedings but we'll see how it goes.

That leads me to sleep...a favourite topic.  As I had talked about in previous posts, Lennon had been sleeping 7-8 hours.  Well, in the last few weeks she's decided she needs to get up at 2 or 3 am again.  After that wake up she starts trying to wake up every hour or so.  I've been able to get her to go to back to sleep sometimes without a feeding.  Hopefully she'll start being able to soothe her self back to sleep soon.  So, needless to say, I'm a little tired again.  Especially after having, and getting used to, those days when she was sleeping better!

All Together Now

Okay, it's been a while.  We are back in Calgary from our trip to Bowmanville.  I didn't have my computer with me so blogging was difficult.  Now to catch up!

On the plane, with Grandma, with Dad

Our visit in Bowmanville was great!  We had such a good time it was sad to leave.  Grandma and Gramps wanted to hide Lennon hoping I might forget her there - not sure how that would  go once she got hungry!  Fred left on Sunday and Lennon and I stayed until Friday, so Daddy was lonely at home without us, we needed to get back home.  The flight home was great!  I was a little worried after the flight out and being on my own but Lennon was perfect.  I couldn't have wished for her to be any better.  She slept, ate, and smiled at the people around us.

Cousins
The week in Bowmanville was good.  The weather improved and we got outside for some walks.  The highlight was Steve and Heather and the kids coming back from Greece.  I haven't seen them since last summer and it was their first time meeting Lennon.  Hendrik and Alana loved her,  Alana especially.  I think she thought she was a doll.  She wanted to hold her and put her in her doll stroller!  It was pretty cute.  Hendrik liked to give her toys to play with.  Of course Uncle Steve and Auntie Heather loved her too - maybe it made them want another?!  We all had a good time catching up and being together again.  I wish we could all be together more often.

Lennon continues to do well and is growing like a weed. While we were in Ontario she all of a sudden didn't fit any of her sleepers anymore!  Next week we'll get her weighed at the doctor to see how much she really has grown.  She's starting to enjoy her toys more (everything goes in her mouth) and is smiling lots and doing some giggling too!  Cute!

Happy girl
Yesterday was my first Mother's Day.  Fred got up with Lennon in the morning and let me sleep in.  That was the best gift ever!  I don't think I changed a diaper all day either!  We went out for a nice lunch and also out for some ice cream and then went out with Fred's parents for dinner.  It was a nice day!

We're just home for  a few days now and then off on our first road trip for our annual trip to Penticton for the May long weekend.  Lennon's first road trip!  Hopefully that goes well!

Here are some more pictures from our two weeks in Bowmanville and a couple of giggling videos.
